VxWin® supports scalable applications by supporting a wide range of single core and multicore micro processors |
| The main advantage of VxWin® is that no hardware virtualization is needed to run VxWin®. The proven VxWin® product is now available through the global distribution network of KUKA Roboter Real-Time products. VxWin® is a member of the product family RTOSWin and enables developers to turn a standard PC into a powerful real-time execution platform. Under VxWin®, standard versions of VxWorks® and Windows® XP operating systems are running simultaneously on a single PC system. |
 | VxWin the ideal solution for numerous applications | | |
| VxWin® provides an ideal execution environment for a wide variety of industrial applications. While VxWorks® is dedicated to control real-time, deterministic tasks, Windows® can simultaneously carry out a variety of functions. Although Windows® is frequently used as a graphics-oriented control console, it can additionally be used to perform many data management and communication functions and participates in an enterprise-wide information and control system. With VxWin® developers can design scaleable applications using VxWin® from single-core systems up to high end dual-core or quad-core systems. Depending on the performance requirements of the solution, the OS’s could share one core on a low-cost single core system or run exclusively each OS on his own cores of a high-end multi-core system. | |
 | One Common Image For Different CPU's | | |
| For all version of the solution one common image will be used for all different CPU types. The different operation modes will be defined during the configuration of the system. With theRTOSWin technology the delivered VxWorks® BSP is hardware independent and could be used to run on all supported PC’s. The VxWin® technology is available for all Intel and AMD processors with or without hardware virtualization, because the VxWin® technology do not need any hardware virtualization support to run VxWin®. | |
 | Supports All Relevant VxWorks® Versions | | |
| | Ready-to-use BSP’s for the VxWorks® version 5.4, 5.5 and version 6.0 up to 6.5 are supported by VxWin® and part of the product delivery of KUKA RTOSWin. | |
