Hardware Independent Virtualization to adapt RTOS and Windows®

KUKA Roboter’s RTOS Virtual Machine Technology is a world-wide unique, sophisticated platform for running any off-the-shelf Real-time Operating System (RTOS) co-existently with Microsoft Windows® Vista/XP/2000.

The RTOS may either run with highest priority together with Windows® on the same CPU core (without real-time restrictions!) or it may exclusively facilitate one ore more CPU cores.
Running different real-time operating systems as well as different instances of the same RTOS on different CPU cores is possible.

End customers are provided with an easy-to-use RTOS/Windows solution based on top of the RTOS VM.

Using KUKA Roboter's VmfWin product enables customers to port new operating systems or existing real-time firmware on top of the RTOS VM. The Virtual Machine Framework therefore provides a standard interface to the RTOS VM (e.g. hardware abstraction layer, communication services,...).
